How does the society view software or media that seems to be from the Devil? If I'm watching a satanic ritual file downloaded from a web site, is that file demonized? If the original file is possessed and gets duplicated, are all the other duplicated files possessed as well? And does the demon that possessed the original file get split up into little demons? LOL

LOL, elsewhere, that's a good one. It kinda reminds me of the time period I went through trying to fade from the meetings. And its not like I wanted to go either.

Ex-elders: did you ever confront anyone on FAKE HOURS
by Quotes ina few recent threads have been about faking hours in field service reports (for example, this one: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/72429/1.ashx).
a number of posters said they would never actually go in service, but still magically get in their hours each month.
my question to you ex-elders: did you ever confront someone on this?

It didn't matter with how much time I put in compared to "quality". That's what the elders told me when they deleted me. Sometimes a few of us would put in a full days worth, like 12 hours. I remember those days being fun days. But, the elders told me that there's no way it would be productive then. So, I guess hours don't mean much without the mags and RVs and BS to go with it.

GermanJW, your dad sounds like a great, smart guy. I'm glad he wasn't afraid to put his foot down.
Reading all of these posts is bringing up a little bit of anger with how the elders and COs treat the flock. There were several troubling experiences I went through that have helped me to realize the hypocrisy in this religion.
My whole family and I were deleted from pioneering based off of false reports. We were never confronted. Instead we were pulled into the back after a meeting and told we were deleted. And this was all because of one CO that wanted to see us go down. He did not like some relatives of ours.
I stayed in that hall for several more years and then encouraged from my elder father to go to another cong if I ever wanted to be made an MS cause he said that it wasn't going to happen there. He never did tell me who didn't want me to be an MS, but its just the same old crap over and over.
So, GermanJW, you said that hopefully the young pioneer brother had left. Well, if he opens his eyes after all of what has happened to him, he will. This is what was able to push me out. And I am so greatful for it.(The "Tell the Elders and CO to cram it up their ass" class)

What first gave you doubts ?
by rick1199 inwe all know the big problems with the wts, but what was the first thing that made you realise there were problems with the organisation ?
with me it was realitivly small stuff like an 8 year old getting baptised and a comment my best mates made about another of our friends asking if we should be hanging round with her as she might be bad assciation (she had just been reproved, but they had been mates 20 years).. .
how ever the first time i ever thought something was really wrong was when i was about 11 and my grand farther died, and mu mum wouldn't go to the funeral, i remeber thinking that surely it was better to say good bye properly than worry about if the service was in a church.. .

There are many things that led up to my awakening. Alot of them were little things. And a few big things. I could go on and on about them, but what kept me in the Org still was the saying, "Don't let imperfect men sway you." ARGGHHH!!!
I read several posts about being a born-again and it reminded me of a time I was in the field ministry. The publisher with me was preaching to this born-again lady. She had her Bible and the two were going back and forth proving each other the better.
I was just rolling my eyes in the back of the head, because I knew there was nothing we could do to change her mind. But, what got to me was what she said.
She explained that she was abused when she was young and when she was 13 she was able to find the Lord and be born-again. And then she had this look in her eyes that said that there was no way anybody was going to take that away from her.
I just couldn't understand how she could be a wicked person that God would condemn. There was no way I was going to try to destroy the woman's world.
There are other instances that made me realize something was wrong, but all of them finally just added up, made me crack, and I had to give myself a break from the meetings. Which in effect, allowed the indoctrination (the constant voice of guilt in my head) to depart.
And I am a much happier person now. -

Do you think people are amazed you left?
by Sassy inwhether you have been disfellowshipped, or disasociated yourself or just slowly are fading or inactive... .
or even are still there at the hall attending due to family.. .
do you think that when you were at your 'strongest as a believer' that anyone would have guessed how you feel about the wts now?.

Not many know yet that I have left. I went to meetings off and on over the past year. But, a few years prior to that a friend said that she could not see me ever leaving the truth. And I agreed with her as well.
Later, when I was trying to deal with life, an elder asked how things were and I remember telling him that I just needed time on my own. I even said that I still believe its the truth, its just I needed a breather.
All my life, I never thought I'd be here where I am now. I talked to an ex-JW friend recently and he thought I'd never leave either. He said I was just too honest of a person to leave. I was glad to hear that from him and am very happy with the decisions I've made now.
So, once wind gets out that I'm not a JW anymore, alot I'm sure will be shocked. But, what the hell. I just can't wait for that time. LOL
